Affan Bajwa

Hi, I am Affan Bajwa

I'm a design practitioner, UX strategist, and detail-oriented designer.

I help startups & organizations solve complex marketing, communications, and business problems. My work has spanned the B2C, and B2B industries, delivering world-class solutions and tangible business results. I've collaborated with Founders, Product Managers, and CEO's on a diverse group of tech domains, including Fintech, Edtech, and Medtech, to the inception of insightful and human-centered products. With a focus on users, I craft a UX strategy that aligns with business goals and technical capabilities.

In my free time as a hobby, I've started to design and publish Mobile games. I had resisted this temptation of publishing my own games long enough. I also try to contribute by writing Blogs and publishing Freebies for the facilitation of other fellow designers.

I really love and enjoy what I do.

How did I get into design?

Cognitive Phase

While I was in 3rd grade, I saw one of my class fellow sketching warships, planes, tanks, and guns at the back of his notebook. Seeing him drawing specific weaponry and its details intrigued me to try sketching one day. And the day came when I was seated next to him and got the opportunity to try drawing myself, and after trying, I realized that I could do it with just a notebook, a lead pencil, an eraser, a pencil sharpener, and a ruler. Although it got me into a lot of trouble using my school notebooks.

I was amazed by how the perspective, scale, and shape of the tiny little details add value and meaning to a bigger picture.

Ever since that day, up until this day, whenever I got my hands on a notebook and found some time, I sketched something.

Associative Phase

After graduating(BS-CS) in 2016, I was actively looking for a job and thought I might try my drawing skills. So, I started tracing on Adobe Illustrator and participating in Graphics design-related contests. And within a month, I landed my first client.

Autonomous Phase

I continued to work as a Graphic Designer for a year and realized that I should go for UX/UI design as it aligns well with my educational background.

After making the switch, I dug deeper and deeper into UX/UI and realized that UX and UI designs work the same way vaccines and medicines work for diseases, good food contributes to good health, and just like personal investment payoffs.
