Missile Dodge 2D: Sky Survival is my own top-down arcade game for Android. You pilot a real fighter jet through a sky full of homing missiles: hold your line, break hard at the last moment and pop flares to shake them off.
I designed and built it in Unity, from the missile behaviour and the look of the jets, missiles and sky to the menus, the store listing and the release on Google Play.
Missiles attack from behind, and every one can only make a few turns before its motor burns out. The skill is making a missile waste its turns, outlasting it, or tricking it into crashing into another missile. There are three types, each modelled on a real weapon:
A tap releases a flare salvo behind the jet. Older seekers fall for it almost every time; modern ones rarely do. Flare pickups in the sky restock them.
The hangar holds the F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18 Hornet, JF-17 Thunder, MiG-29 Fulcrum and Su-30 Flanker. Each jet has its own speed, agility and evasion based on its real-world performance, from the light JF-17 to the thrust-vectoring Su-30. Players also choose their pilot.
I also designed the game's store presence: the icon, the feature graphic and the six screenshots above, each leading with the one idea that sells that part of the game.
